MotoPin — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Oxigenic Inc. ("Oxigenic," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the MotoPin mobile application, the MotoPin SMS messaging program, and related websites and services (together, the "Service"). MotoPin is a safety product: nearly everything we collect exists to get the right alert to the right person at the right moment — and for no other reason.

We collect your phone number, your rides and their locations, and the emergency contacts you choose — because that is what the product does. If you use "Find friends," we check phone numbers from your contacts against our user list without storing your contact list. We do not sell your personal information, we do not use it for advertising, and no mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Location is collected only around your rides and shared only with the Guardians you picked.

1. Information we collect

Category	Details
Account information	Your name and mobile phone number (used to sign in via SMS verification, and as the key by which other users who already know your number can find your account — see Section 4).
Emergency contacts	The names, phone numbers, and optional photos of the Guardians you add.
Contact matching (optional)	If you use "Find friends" and grant contacts permission, the app reads your device contacts and sends us phone numbers only — no names, photos, or emails — to check which numbers belong to MotoPin accounts. The numbers are checked and discarded: we do not store your contact list, and the response reveals only which numbers matched. We keep per-account daily request counters (how many checks you ran, not which numbers) to limit abuse. Names and photos you see in the results come from your own device, not from us.
Ride data	Ride start and end times, status (active, ended safely, SOS, cancelled, abandoned), optional ride notes, destinations you save (such as Home and Work), and vehicle details and photos you add.
Location data	Precise GPS location and speed, collected during active rides (including in the background) to power live tracking, arrival detection, crash detection, and location links in alerts. See Section 5.
Device & notification data	A push-notification token for your device so we can deliver alerts, and basic technical logs generated when the Service runs.
Messaging consent records	For each phone number in the messaging program: consent status, the opt-in message and its delivery status, timestamps of confirmations and opt-outs, and the keywords received (e.g. YES, STOP). See Section 6.
Support & reports	Problem reports and messages you send us, and quick messages sent between Guardians and riders during a ride.
Usage & analytics data	How you interact with the app — screens viewed, features used, session information, and performance data such as crashes and load times — along with general device information (device model, OS version, app version). Where practical, this data is collected in aggregated or pseudonymous form.
Purchase status	If paid features are offered, we receive subscription status from Apple. Payments are processed by Apple — we never see your card details.

We do not use third-party advertising SDKs, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

2. Information about others

Riders give us the names and phone numbers of their emergency contacts. If someone added you as a Guardian, we hold your name and number to send you a single SMS opt-in request and — only if you reply YES — safety alerts about that rider, and to recognize the connection between you and that rider inside the app (for example, if you also use MotoPin, that connection is what lets you add the rider back as someone you watch over — see Section 4). We never use Guardian numbers for marketing, never sell them, and you can stop all messages at any time by replying STOP. Riders are required to have your permission before adding your number; if you believe your number was added improperly, contact us at support@oxigenic.com and we will remove it.

3. How we use information

Provide the Service: start and track rides, detect possible crashes, deliver push and SMS alerts to your Guardians, show your location and route to them during a ride, and let Guardians send quick messages.
Messaging compliance: collect and honor SMS consent, process STOP/HELP keywords, and keep the audit records required for carrier and regulatory compliance.
Operate and improve: maintain, debug, and improve features and reliability.
Analytics: understand how the Service is used — which features are used, how often, and how well they perform — to guide product decisions and fix problems. Analytics are used to improve MotoPin, not to advertise to you or to profile you across other apps.
Safety and integrity: prevent abuse, enforce our Terms of Service, and protect users and the public.
Support: respond to your requests and problem reports.
Legal: comply with applicable law and legal process.

We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not sell it.

With your Guardians (by design): during and after a ride, the Guardians you selected can see your name, phone number, ride status, notes, and locations, including a map of your route. SMS alerts include your name and a map link to your last known location.
With your rider (by design): if you are a Guardian, the rider sees your name, number, photo (if added), and whether you have the app; if you have a MotoPin account, the rider may also see your account's display name and profile photo.
With people who already know your phone number (by design): if a MotoPin user enters or matches your phone number — for example, from their own contacts — the Service confirms that an account exists for it and shows them your account's display name and profile photo, so they can add the right person. Your profile photo may also be visible to other signed-in users your account is connected to (for example, as your map pin for the people watching your rides).
With people you saved as a Guardian (by design): anyone you have added as a Guardian — even if they are not currently selected for your rides — can retrieve your name and phone number in the app in order to add you back as someone they watch over.
Service providers: companies that process data on our behalf and only as needed to run the Service — Google (Firebase: authentication, database, storage, hosting, push notifications, and analytics/crash-reporting), Apple (push notification delivery, purchases), and our SMS provider and the wireless carriers that deliver text messages.
Legal and safety: if required by law or legal process, or when we believe in good faith it is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of users, the public, or Oxigenic.
Business transfers: in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred, subject to this policy's commitments.

We do not sell personal information. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers collected for the messaging program are used solely to deliver the safety messages described here and on our SMS Consent & Opt-In page.

5. Location data

Location is the heart of MotoPin, so we are specific about it:

When: precise location is collected while a ride is active (including in the background so alerts work with your phone in your pocket). We do not track your location when you are not on a ride.
What: GPS coordinates, speed, and timestamps, recorded as route breadcrumbs at short intervals during a ride, plus a start and last-known location on each ride.
How long: route breadcrumbs are automatically deleted 180 days after they are recorded, and immediately if you delete your account. Each ride keeps only its summary (start and last-known location) with your ride history. See Section 7.
Who sees it: only the Guardians you selected for that ride (in the app and in alert map links) and our systems. Location is never sold, never used for advertising, and never shared for marketing.
Control: iOS location permissions are always under your control in Settings. Disabling them stops collection but also breaks ride tracking and crash detection.

6. SMS & consent records

We keep a consent record for every phone number in the messaging program — its status (pending, confirmed, opted out, or failed), when the opt-in request was sent, when consent was given or revoked, and an immutable log of those events, including the keywords received. We keep these records because messaging regulations and carrier rules require us to prove consent. Reply STOP to any message to opt out immediately, START to opt back in, or HELP for help. 7. Data retention

Account, contacts, rides, and photos: kept while your account is active and deleted when your account is deleted, except as noted below.
Location breadcrumbs: the detailed GPS trail of each ride is automatically deleted 180 days after it is recorded, and immediately if you delete your account. Each ride keeps only its summary (start and last-known location) with your ride history.
Messaging consent records and audit logs: retained even after account deletion, because carrier and legal rules require us to keep proof of consent and opt-outs.
Usage & analytics data: retained in aggregated or pseudonymous form and periodically deleted or de-identified on our providers' standard retention schedules.
Problem reports & notification logs: problem reports are automatically deleted after 90 days; internal notification-delivery records after 30 days.
Support records and legal holds: kept as long as needed for the purpose or as required by law.

8. Security

We protect your information with industry-standard measures: data is encrypted in transit, stored on Google Firebase infrastructure, and guarded by server-side security rules so users can only access the data their role permits (for example, only Cloud Functions — never other users — can write consent records, and only your chosen Guardians can view your rides). No system is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.

9. Your rights & choices

Access, correction, deletion: you can edit your profile, contacts, vehicles, and destinations in the app, and delete your entire account (which permanently removes your rides and their location history). You may also email support@oxigenic.com to request a copy or deletion of your data.
SMS: reply STOP to any message to stop all texts to your number.
Push notifications: control them in iOS Settings.
Location: control permissions in iOS Settings (see Section 5).
Contacts: contact matching is optional and runs only when you use "Find friends." You control contacts permission in iOS Settings; declining it (or granting access to only selected contacts) simply limits matching. You can always add people by typing their number.
State privacy rights: depending on where you live (for example, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other states with privacy laws), you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We honor these requests for all users regardless of state. To exercise any right, email support@oxigenic.com; we will verify your request via your account phone number. We do not sell or "share" (as defined by California law) personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and rider accounts require you to be at least 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Users outside the United States

The Service is intended for users in the United States, and information is processed and stored in the United States. If you use the Service from elsewhere, you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where privacy laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice — for example, in the app or by message — and update the effective date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
